A Study on the Attachment Effect of CFRP Plates to Internal Reinforcements of Curtain Wall Frames Using GFRP

This study is for the development of internal reinforcing materials using fiber-reinforced plastics that can be used curtain wall frames. The main material reinforcement light and inexpensive GFRP. However, GFRP has characteristics low elastic modulus brittle fracture. Therefore, CFRP attached to supplement disadvantages. In this study, a flexural experiment was performed confirm performance improvement effect reinforced with CFRP. results showed total stiffness increased by about two times when carbon fiber plastic plate compared specimen made single glass plastic. Also, pattern load-displacement graph found reflect ductile material. it observed adhesion failure first occurred on attachment surface before member yielded. determined necessary increase adhesive strength or set minimum length in order prevent poor manufacturing actual stiffeners. additional specimens were prepared length, strength, rate as variables, then conducted. As result experiment, maximum load decreased long specimen, but overall similar, did not appear conspicuously destroyed. case epoxy more stable than resin, slightly higher width whole.
